Triumph - Gasket, Sump - T1230224

Speed Triple 2006 so I had to remove

6x bolts on the upper & lower radiator 6nm torque & submerge bolts in white vinegar to remove rust for 24 hrs then at the end add baking soda to deactivate to prevent flash rusting

remove cylinder 6x m8 1.25 bolts torque 12nm
remove rear exhaust bolt but be aware there is a o2 cable attached
remove oil filter
oil pan sump 20x 8mm torque 12nm bolts

removing the oil was tough I had to purchase 4 different oil filter wrench as the 1st 3 strap types did nothing, the one that grabs from underneath works with a lot of elbow grease.

To get the Oil Pan Sump separated I went to the right side of the bike and to the back corner of the sump their is a flat surface, I stick my open mouth wrench and pried up against the frame as the wrench pried down pushing off the Oil Pan Sump.
Now there are bits & pieces of the gasket on the engine and the oil pan sump, to remove the remaining old gasket I recommend getting a gasket remover like prematex gasket 80645 and purchase a plastic scrapper.

Use 1200 grit sand paper to smooth surface if necessary and use degreaser to remove and residue of the Prematex gasket 80645

Use just enough gasket maker buy a high temp one example 500 degee's on the corners and on the circle to hold the gasket in place and let it sit for half and hour then install oil pan sump only finger tight, don't torque bolts until 1 hr has passed since using the gasket maker.

After the hour has passed torque to 12nm and ("DO NOT") put any oil in until 24 hrs + have past

then put the specified oil in, inspect 1 hour after for leaks, if all goes well put the cylinder bolts back on, then the radiators/ coolers

Easy to install. Torque in a star pattern like you would your car tire or cylinder head.

On the sump gasket, make sure you buy exhaust gaskets as well. Didn't think about having to remove the exhaust. Ended up having to order those as well.
