Triumph - Seal, Fuel, Pump, Plate, E25 - T2401151

2014 Triumph Bonneville (less than 10,000 miles on bike) would cut off at a sustained speed of 70mph (about into 4 mins at that speed). I pull over, cranks right back up..runs fine..so I replaced the fuel filter,...we shall see,now to find somewhere that I can go **unnoticed at 70mph!!

My local Triumph dealer went out of business after 20 years. The nearest dealer is 90 minutes away. I decided to go back to my youth and do my own service. I am doing a 24,000 mile service on my 2012 Thruxton. Parts arrived for my valve check. 6 of 8 are too tight, so I will be ordering shims soon.

Purchased a 2009 Triumph Bonneville T100 with 5400 miles. Two days later, it would start, but not idle and had no power. The engine would quit after an anemic 1800 RPM. Looked at other forums and decided it might be the fuel pump or the pressure regulator which ate located inside the gas tank. Purchased the parts from AdeptPowersports, looked at YouTube videos of removing the tank and opening it up. Did an oil change, spark plug replacement and 4 hours later the bike is back in running order and does 100 nicely.

Fuel Filter Replacement
My 2010 Triumph Thruxton was due for fuel filter change so I removed the fuel tank, emptied the fuel and flipped it upside down to take out the assembly.
Surprisingly, the assembly came out with nary a cuss word spoken. Changing the fuel filter and hoses was very easy and straightforward. I also took the rubber inlet off where the steel wool looking material is located so I could clean the screen that was behind it.
A caution note: Mark the exact spot where the inlet rubber fits on the assembly so that it goes on in the exact spot. Why? That inlet rubber fits in a formed box inside the fuel tank so orientation is critical for reassembly. You can see that area if you look in the rear corner of the fuel tank while it is upside down.
In all, the task was much easier that I expected and glad I did it
