Yamaha - Blower Assembly - 4S8-12405-00-00

Riding home one evening in traffic I noticed my 2007 Yamaha FZ6 began to overheat. I quickly maneuvered around the traffic and got my speed up to cool it down. When I got home I found that the tar-covered gravel from my street was sticking to the front tire of my Yamaha FZ6 and lodging between my headers and the back of the radiator. Several of these small stones got in the cooling fan behind the radiator damaging the electric motor. The 20A fuse for the fan was also blown. I removed and cleaned the fan of all the gravel but I could still feel some small resistance and heard noise when spinning the fan with my hand. Not wanting to give up on the fan just yet I re-installed it and replaced the fuse with a new 10A. I decided to test the repairs on my commute home in heavy traffic the next day. The temp spiked to over 230 degrees and began to overheat again. This is when I realized the fan was beyond repair and need to be replaced. This is a design flaw in my opinion and Yamaha should have engineered something beneath the radiator to stop road objects from getting up in the fan area.
