Yamaha - Kick Shaft Assembly - 5NL-15601-00-00

My kickstart shaft broke. so i got this part to fix it. You need to drain oil and antifreeze. I didn't realize I would also need the gasket for the clutch side case cover. It's a little bit tricky but doable. YouTube vids helped me alot. As usual the hardest part was just having the right tools at hand and being inexperienced with taking out the clutch. ( which u must do to get out the kickstart assembly.) It was also tricky to put clutch back in because it wouldn't line up with the gears. You may need to move gears slightly for things to line up and slide in. But most of all just pay really close attention to how things went because there's a lot of parts inside that clutch case. After doing if once though it would be very easy to do again. ... To get out the clutch I put the bike in gear and put a metal bar between the sprocket and the swing arm so if would hold it still while taking off the nut holding the clutch. Cheaper than buying a special clutch holding tool. Hope this info helps someone.
