Triumph - Sealing Washer - 3550150T0301

I purchased a sight unseen (except for pictures) 1998 Triumph Sprint Executive in June from half way across the country. Well I pulled it in the garage and started tearing it apart (kinda). Wheels and everything off the top. Cleaning everything as I went along (14 cans of brakecleen) and a lot of time (3 months of after work and weekends) and elbow grease and soap and water. Ordering parts from Adept Powersports and my local Triumph dealer all along the way. Small stuff mostly. Adjusted the valves which were actually pretty good. Only had 3 to adjust. Clean the carbs and richened the jetting up. New air filter. New front sprocket. Oil and filter, coolant, brake fluid, cleaned the calipers, a couple new lights out in the cockpit and headlight. Any cover that came off got a new gasket unless it was a reusable one. A grommet here and there. A little paint on the rear rack. But after all the time and effort I've got a super clean Triumph that will turn some heads.

The repair was easy for me because - I didn't do it. A buddy installed the part. I can say I am very happy with the part. It is nice not to have a leaking petcock valve.

Easy job when original parts are used. Just replace the old fuel valve with the new kit; and ready to go, to enjoy my bike....

Now it is working perfectly, no more leaks and no more over fuel supply to engine, nice...

On a new to me barn find '05 Triumph America, I noticed a raw fuel smell after removing, rebuilding, and refitting the carbs. No leaks were found at the carbs or overflow hose. My hand brushed the petcock while poking around, and that was the source of the leak. Enough to smell but not enough to drip. I drained and removed the tank and found that the petcock to tank seal was compromised. I ordered all these parts before removal. probably didn't need the petcock (fuel tap assembly) but replaced it anyway. I was pleased to find that it is made by Mikuni! Back up and riding within 30 minutes. Easy repair once I found the source of the leak.

My fuel tap assembly was leaking at the valve. I had no idea how old it was or the condition of the internals, so I just replaced it rather than trying to rebuild it. After removing the tank and draining the fuel, I flipped the tank and removed the old assembly. I thoroughly cleaned the spacer, reassembled the stack with a new seal and mounted. I chose to replace the washers and bolts as well. This project went very smoothly. After a test run to ops check and leak check, the bike is sitting leak free, with a tank of fuel.
